Doorway in Old Town of Krakow (Cracow)

Krakow does not fall asleep during the winter months. It is just as vibrant as in summer. The city's atmosphere is in many ways more authentic as the throngs of summer tourists give way to the tens of thousands of students, academics and artists, who call Krakow their home and who give the city its special climate. It may be argued that to understand the true beauty of this magical place through the eyes of a Cracovian, is to experience the city in winter.
